He holds an MFA in Creative Writing from Salve Regina University, an MFA in Writing for Film & Television at Emerson College, and an MA in English from the University of Rhode Island. His work explores the intersection of genre and philosophy, often blending speculative elements with grounded human conflict. Mendillo’s fiction and nonfiction have appeared in outlets including Had Journal, Novellum Magazine, and MLB.com. He’s also a professional cheeseburger chef.
