Lew Temple, born on October 2, 1967, is an American actor known for his roles as Axel on "The Walking Dead," Ned Oldham in the action thriller "Unstoppable" alongside Denzel Washington, Chris Pine, and Rosario Dawson, directed by Tony Scott, and Cal, the diner manager in the comedy-drama "Waitress."
Raised in Louisiana's Bayou Country, Temple is a versatile actor often likened to a chameleon for his ability to fully embody any character.
His other film credits include playing Hollis, a ranger in Disney's 2013 blockbuster "The Lone Ranger" with Johnny Depp and Armie Hammer; Locus Fender in the action film "Domino," starring Keira Knightley and Mickey Rourke and directed by Tony Scott; and a role in Rob Zombie's "The Devil's Rejects" alongside Bill Moseley, Sid Haig, William Forsythe, and Sheri Moon Zombie.
Temple started his acting career on stage at Houston's Alley Theatre, performing with artists like Vanessa Redgrave in "Julius Caesar" and "Anthony & Cleopatra," and working with renowned writers and directors Michael Wilson, Terrence McNally, and Edward Albee. He later appeared in numerous television roles and both independent and mainstream films, including "On the Borderline," "The Newton Boys," and "Angels in the Outfield."
