Alan B. Bursteen is the Co-Founder and President of Milestone Studios, LLC. The company excels in sourcing projects, collaborating with talent representatives, producing, financing, and organizing global distribution of commercial films. Milestone develops original content and adapts films from fiction and non-fiction novels, articles, autobiographies, and other source materials. Using private equity financing, Milestone produces films with budgets between $5 million and $15 million, covering genres such as action, thriller, crime, horror, comedy, and family. The company also offers turnkey solutions to filmmakers at various production stages to help secure financing and distribution.
A seasoned entertainment industry professional, Bursteen has extensive experience in motion picture production, acquisitions, sales, and worldwide distribution. As President of New City Releasing, Inc., he became a leading licensing agent for independent feature films in the U.S., handling titles like Christopher Nolan's "Memento," the Academy Award-winning "Crash," and cult classics "Boondock Saints" and "Freeway." His proven skill in deal negotiation has established him as a key industry figure.
Throughout his career, Bursteen has licensed over 750 motion pictures, produced more than 150 feature films, and created over 100 hours of television content. He played a pivotal role in developing the "World Premiere" branding for HBO, Syfy Channel, USA Network, and Starz. Bursteen holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Arizona State University and is a member of the American Film Institute (AFI), the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (ATAS), and the Producers Guild of America (PGA).
