John A. Kuelbs is a creator, writer and producer whose career spans entertainment, consumer products, and private investment. He served as Chairman of Funimation, North America's leading anime distributor (titles including Dragon Ball Z, Cowboy Bebop, and One Piece), from the company's 2011 acquisition through its 2017 sale to Sony Pictures Television; Funimation was later merged into Sony's Crunchyroll brand. In 2017, Kuelbs joined Kix Brooks to form Vaquero Entertainment, producing the film You're Gonna Miss Me (2017) and the television movie Home by Spring (2018). He has a TV streaming series in development (2026).
