Born and raised in Stockholm, Sweden, Helena af Sandeberg is one of the most prolific, versatile, and acclaimed actresses of her generation. After studying drama at Södra Latin High School of Performing Arts, she continued her training at the Lee Strasberg Actors Studio in New York. Upon returning to Sweden, she embarked on a rich career in film, television, and theatre. Since 2003, Helena has been a permanent member of the Stockholm City Theatre ensemble. Her portrayal of leading roles with a personal yet universal touch has earned her significant critical acclaim in numerous plays, including "Hedda Gabler," "Three Sisters," and "Anna Karenina."
Helena's breakthrough in film came with "Kim Novak Never Swam in Genesaret's Lake," based on the novel by Håkan Nesser.
