Jarrett began his professional acting career at age 4, after his mother finally gave in to persistent encouragement from many people, with Ed Asner’s praise as the tipping point, suggesting he had a natural talent for acting. After landing a national commercial and a television mini-series on only his first two auditions, it quickly became clear that acting was his true calling.
From there, his career steadily progressed throughout his childhood, earning consistent praise for his natural performances and his ability to follow direction even at a young age. For much of his early career, Jarrett (known as Jett to friends) was advised to avoid formal acting classes to preserve his unique technique from outside influence. However, at 13, he challenged that advice by taking a master class with Kevin Robert McDermott, designed for actors aged 15 and older.
Later, Jarrett paused his unpredictable acting career to focus on raising a family, turning his technology hobby into a full-time IT support profession, while keeping acting on the sidelines. Yet, his passion for the craft endured. He took to the stage to star in and direct several plays, secured recurring roles in popular web series, and contributed as a guest, producer, writer, and editor on various podcasts.
In 2015, on a spontaneous challenge, Jarrett enrolled in an improv class at iO West with Brian James O’Connell that transformed his life. He progressed through multiple classes at iO, Pack Theater, Revolution Theater, and others, studying under instructors such as Paul Vaillancourt, Craig Cackowski, Shulie Cowen, and Chris Alvarado. This experience reignited his enthusiasm for performance and honed his long-form improv skills. Alongside close friends, he formed an indie team called The Feel Good Not Bad Death Laser, which toured Southern California with over 100 shows in its first year, eventually achieving main-stage status at iO West, Revolution Theater, and ACME Comedy. When the pandemic shifted live performance online, he and his teammates from the award-winning improv show ALLEGEDLY... launched The Super Legit Podcast, which he hosts and edits.
Drawing on the experience, skills, character development, and support gained from the improv community, Jarrett has enthusiastically returned to professional acting after a 15-year hiatus. He is eager to showcase all that life has taught him during his time away and to prove he is far more than just “good for a kid.”
