After earning degrees in screenwriting from Pepperdine University, New York Film Academy, and UCLA, Amy cast actors she worked with on Boy Meets World in her debut feature film Buck Naked Arson, which won Best Feature at the San Francisco Film Festival. Variety praised it as "As if John Hughes re-made Rashomon." Amy then transitioned to the studio system, winning the 2005 Disney Fellowship with her romantic comedy Running Mate and selling her comedy Kept Men to Paramount Pictures. She has since infused her signature blend of heartfelt comedy into projects at Fox Studios, Weintraub Films, Chernin Entertainment, Kopelson Entertainment, and DreamWorks Pictures. In 2010, Amy made the Hit List with her spec script Launching the Pattersons and sold her original feature Kylie Claus to the Disney Channel. In 2012, she penned the romantic adventure comedy My Lucky Star for actress Ziyi Zhang, along with Family Camp and Family of the Bride for Sony Pictures, and created the television pilot Daddy's Girl. Since then, she has written five feature films for the Chinese market, sold a comedy pilot to Amazon, and adapted the books Blind Courage and Strong Fathers, Strong Daughters into feature films. Born in Oklahoma and raised in Palos Verdes, Amy now lives in Los Angeles with her family and three dogs. She is represented by Bryan Besser and Zach Carlisle at Verve Talent, Allison Binder at Stone, Meyer, Genow, Smelkinson & Binder, and Alex Hertzberg of Hertzberg Media.
