Michael Margulis is a Ukrainian producer, enterpriser. Born in Kyiv. He is a graduate of the Kyiv National University of Civil Engineering and Architecture, later - Kyiv National University of Culture and Arts, majoring in Theater Directing. He has advanced training in business schools in Germany, Ireland, and Switzerland.
1986-1988 - had worked as a director in the theaters of Kyiv (Ukraine), Alma-Ata (Kazakhstan), Ashgabat and Mara (Turkmenistan). Since 1999 he has been working as a business consultant for large companies (Germany, Switzerland, Sweden, USA, Austria, Brazil, Belgium). Since 2004 - producer and manager of Ukrainian brands "Kapitoshka" and "Petryk Piatochkyn" in cooperation with their author Natalia Guzeeva. 2013 - author of the idea of the international project "Skype Mom". It has been published by "The Old Lion Publishing House" (Ukraine) and edition.fotoTAPETA (Germany). "Skype Mom" became one of the major projects at Leipzig book Fair 2013. 2014 - producer of the animated short film "Halabudka" (the first part of the triptych "The City of Happy Boys") in cooperation with Ukranimafilm. The film received the National Prize of Ukraine in 2015, was a part of nearly 40 film festivals, received 8 international awards (2013-2015). 2015 - co-founder and general producer of the Studio KAPI. 2015 - 2018 - supported by the Ukrainian State Film Agency and in collaboration with Borisfen Animation Studio, Studio KAPI has created 4 series of animation "Myshko and Dzvinka". In 2016, the Ukrainian Film Academy nominated the series for the prize "The best animated movie of the year". Since 2017 - producer of the feature-length animation "Trouble Nubble Gum", based on the book "23 insults of Petryk Piatochkyn" by Natalia Guzeeva. The project is being produced by Studio KAPI. The cartoon release is scheduled for the third quarter of 2022. 2018 - the project "Trouble Nubble Gum" won the pitching of the Ukrainian Film Found. 2020 - Studio KAPI became the only Ukrainian animation studio whose project "Trouble Nubble Gum") was selected for pitching at Cartoon Movie in Bordeaux. Producer of the animated films "Labra Kadabra", "Girl and Dragon", "Tiger is strolling around", "The City of Happy Boys", "Myshko and Dzvinka", which are in production now.
Married to Natalia Guzeeva. They have a daughter - Elena Margulis. Since 1995 the family has lived in Germany and Ukraine.
