Mischa Rozema (born 1971) is a Dutch director specializing in film and commercials. He co-founded the Dutch film company The Panics, which includes sister brands Post Panic, House of Panic, The Panics Film, and Panic Room. Known internationally for their creative ambition and craftsmanship, The Panics have earned numerous awards in both commercial and original content fields. After studying Industrial Design, Graphic Design, and Image & Media Technology, Rozema's passion for film led him to pursue filmmaking. Following the success of their graduation film A Time For Panic, he co-founded The Panics with producer Jules Tervoort in 1997. Over more than two decades, Rozema gained international recognition for his creatively ambitious commercials for prominent brands alongside various personal projects. He later shifted focus to long-form film projects initially envisioned by The Panics. His philosophical sci-fi feature concept SUNDAYS sparked a bidding war among Hollywood studios, securing a major film deal. The concept short, released in March 2015, marked a pivotal moment for both Rozema and The Panics. In 2018, Rozema garnered commercial attention again with the branded content short A REPORT OF CONNECTED EVENTS for Liberty Global, which won awards and critical praise, including the Grand Prix at the Dutch Creativity Awards 2019, for its elegant portrayal of storytelling's power. Through The Panics Film, Rozema has also taken on producing roles, working on his own feature and episodic projects while supporting other innovative, director-driven drama ventures. He frequently speaks at international festivals, such as the OFFF Festival Vienna Edition, and has served on juries for awards including Shots and the Dutch Creativity Awards.
