John Stewart "Jack" Williamson was a prolific writer of science fiction novels and short stories. In 1988, he succeeded Robert A. Heinlein as the "Dean of Science Fiction."
His novel "Darker Than You Think" (1948) is perhaps his most famous work and has been included in the Gollancz SF and Fantasy Masterworks series, alongside Ray Bradbury's 1962 novel "Something Wicked This Way Comes" and Richard Matheson's 1954 classic "I Am Legend." The story centers on an ongoing conflict between humans and werewolves, with the latter living secretly among the former.
Jack Williamson passed away in 2006 but remains celebrated as one of the greatest science fiction authors ever.
