Reatha Grey, a hip, vibrant senior prankster featured on NBC's hit show Betty White's Off Their Rockers (2012), was born in Los Angeles, California. Her father was a dentist, and her mother worked as both a social worker and an elementary school teacher. Grey grew up in a comfortable middle-class family and graduated from Los Angeles High School. She later earned a degree in Theater Arts from Los Angeles City College.
In 1974, after touring East Asia with the USO, Grey launched her professional entertainment career, appearing in TV shows and films such as Three's Company (1976), General Hospital (1963), and Angel Dusted (1981). She also starred in the cult black exploitation film Welcome Home Brother Charles (1975). Over the years, Grey accumulated numerous roles on television, film, and stage. During the 1980s, she owned and managed the Grey Images Extra Casting Company for nearly ten years, providing background talent for productions like Baby Boom (1988) and The Fabulous Baker Boys (1992).
Grey retired from performing in 1991 and dedicated eight years as a chaplain at the Los Angeles Mission. She also served as a missionary in Nicaragua, Kenya, Uganda, Ghana, and the Bahamas.
Returning to acting in 2007, Grey appeared in Walk by Faith: After the HoneyMoon (2010), available on DVD, the TV pilot My Life in Punchlines, and co-starred in the cable series The Protector (2011) and The Newsroom (2012). She has also performed stand-up comedy at various clubs around Los Angeles.
