Sven-Erik Åhström was a Swedish Psychiatrist. His life's work was based on a humane and tolerant attitude towards all people in need. He received his medical degree in 1954. During the early 60's, Åhström became involved in various art projects such as Klubb 10 Långbro and the Metamorfosis Group. Legal prescription was a project that originated in Stockholm and ran between April 1965 and May 1967. The idea was initiated by Åhström, and the idea was that prescribing narcotics would both help the growing group of drug addicts improve their health and reduce crime.
