Writer; Producer; Entrepreneur. Salim is a fourth generation Kenyan whose family migrated to East Africa in the late 1800's. He was educated in Kenya, Canada (University of Western Ontario) and USA (New York Film Academy). Salim's hobbies and career meld into a passion for the creative arts. Recognizing the value and importance of human expression in all its forms led him to apply his business knowledge to the Film and TV production industry, founding The East African Film Academy in 2005, the first of its kind in East Africa. in 2011 Salim co-founded Xeinium Productions with Hussein Kurji to help raise funds, develop and produce their premiere production, The Samaritans. Salim's vision is to create more relevant and engaging narratives from Africa for global audiences in order to constructively change the way people perceive Africa.
