Olubusola M. Ajayi was born in Ibadan located in Nigeria, Africa. Her parents moved to Miami, Florida soon after and Shola spent her childhood splitting her time between the U.S. and Nigeria.
She studied Photography at the University of Central Florida and pursued an MFA in Film Production at Boston University as well as an MA in Media Studies at The New School. Shola focuses on creating films exploring social issues facing people of color specifically while also developing stories and images that present positive images of Africa and Africans.
Presently, Shola splits her time between New York and Lagos. She works as an educator, freelance screenwriter, and community advocate via UR4Africa Project, Inc.
