Orlando Bryant is a Barbadian writer, producer, and director. He discovered his passion for filmmaking in 2005 while taking part in an after-school project with a delegate from the BBC. This early exposure to visual storytelling was reinforced when a film he co-created was entered into a regional competition held by the British Film Institute, where it won the prize for Best Short Film and Original Concept.
He went on to study for a BTEC National Diploma in Media Production at Croydon College, where he also developed a strong interest in photography. Bryant Jr later pursued a Bachelor of Arts in Media Production at Derby University, but left the course in 2012 after becoming disillusioned with the curriculum.
In October 2017, he returned to filmmaking by enrolling on the Moving Image course at Raindance Film School. During his training, he worked across a number of student productions, taking on senior roles such as 1st Assistant Director and Unit Production Manager. On May 3rd, 2018, he officially registered his company, Trident Visuals, and shortly after wrote, produced, and directed his debut short film Grizedale as part of the Raindance Student HND course. The film was showcased at the Raindance HND showcase, voted one of the best short films of the day, and subsequently selected for the 26th Raindance Film Festival.
Bryant Jr entered the film and television industry professionally in 2020, starting as a runner/set PA within the Assistant Director (AD) department. Since then, he has worked across multiple high-end television (HETV) productions, feature films, and commercial projects, and has been involved in productions alongside major international talent, including Cate Blanchett and Sacha Baron Cohen.
