Author, screenwriter, director, and musician, he began his artistic career in theater in 1979, performing in the plays Porgy and Bess and Navalha na Carne. In 1993, his play Enquanto Mamãe Não Vem was selected for the Cycle of Dramatized Readings promoted by SBAT, under the direction of José Renato.
He wrote and directed the comedy O Sabonete, which premiered at Teatro América (RJ) and toured several cities, remaining in theaters for over a year. In 2001, he wrote the award-winning musical De Cinderela a Rapunzel - A História Que Ninguém Viu for Cia de Teatro Farsacena.
He participated in projects for Fundação Roberto Marinho, including the show celebrating the 80th anniversary of Retiro dos Artistas, which was later turned into a DVD produced by the Multishow channel. At Rede Globo, he worked on programs such as Você Decide, collaborating with directors like Herval Rossano and Régis Cardoso.
As a screenwriter and director, he also created advertising scripts and was responsible for the first commercial aired by Band TV at its inauguration in Brasília. He has been acting in films since 2008. In 2013, he directed Quarto 13, a series of eleven short films. He also directed the short films Pra Você Eu Guardei, Crônicos, and Em Cinco Atos, as well as the musical Docelândia - O Maravilhoso Mundo dos Insetos.
Currently, in addition to hosting the Papo no Set show on YouTube, Ludi Simões serves as the president of the Cultural Council of ACDF in Brasília.
