Izzy Martinez began his creative journey as a semi-pro salsa dancer and instructor. Although his dance career didn’t truly take off until around the turn of the century, he connected with many talented dancers from Puerto Rico, New York, and Los Angeles, which inspired him to pursue his passion. He contributed to choreography and performed with various local dance groups in Phoenix. In late 2000, he met Rene Delgadillo from Paragons of Salsa Magic, a Las Vegas-based dance company specializing in magic and salsa, during an event in Scottsdale, AZ. Izzy joined the group and performed extensively across Arizona, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas. Suddenly, he packed his belongings and moved to Miami, Florida, seeking a new lifestyle. Unbeknownst to him, this journey would lead him to acting. Having always been a performer, his initial interest was theater, but his love for film and television drew him toward movies. He began studying at The Actors Studio with coach Sherry Faith in North Miami, Florida, where he learned the method acting technique. He continues to hone his skills through classes and workshops at the Miami Acting Studio under Ralph Kinnard’s guidance. Additionally, he was coached by Daniel Urdanivia and is currently involved with the Sociedad Actoral Hispanoamericana, a musical theater group. Izzy also spent many years working with the HavanaFama Theatre Company. Recently, he relocated to Los Angeles to fully commit to his acting career. There, he became a member of the Bilingual Foundation of the Arts, founded by Carmen Zapata and Margarita Galban, and has played lead roles in numerous productions.
