Tim Howar became a member of the reformed Mike and the Mechanics in 2011, sharing lead vocals with Mike Rutherford of Genesis and Andrew Roachford.
His theatrical and musical career has taken him to major theatres and cities throughout Canada, the United States, Europe, and the UK.
His musical theatre roles include Roger in Rent (10th anniversary Broadway cast), On The Town (ENO at Théâtre du Châtelet, Paris), The Who's Tommy (Toronto and Canadian Tour), Peggy Sue Got Married (Shaftesbury Theatre), Tonight's the Night - the Rod Stewart Musical (Victoria Palace Theatre), and Marius in Les Misérables (US Tour and Toronto, Canada, alongside Colm Wilkinson). He has also appeared as a guest soloist on BBC Radio's Friday Night is Music Night, performing with the Halle Orchestra, the National Orchestra of Belgium, and the London Philharmonic.
Based in London, he writes and develops new musical and pop projects. Recent works include the Abbey Road 80th concert with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, 'Shoes' at Sadler's Wells, 'Wrong Songs For Summer,' and 'Uncle David' with composer Richard Thomas. His recent performances feature Amber Rocks, the Princes Trust 2011 at Royal Albert Hall, Rock Against Cancer, the White Christmas UK tour for Raymond Gubbay, and guest appearances alongside fellow Canadian Ramin Karimloo.
