Matt Bhanks is a Canadian director, screenwriter, producer, editor, casting director, and actor from Windsor, Ontario, Canada. He is heavily recognized as the writer of the beloved science-fiction/fantasy/action novel series called Master Defenders. From a young age, Matt had an immense admiration for the science-fiction/fantasy genre. The first character he imagined was at the age of 5, being an alien named Super Can, which he later updated to Canavin at the age of 14. He grew up developing several characters and creating background stories for them, which led to the creation of Master Defenders. Matt attended the University of Windsor and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Honours degree in Communication, Media, and Film. And after plenty of positive feedback over the years, Matt wrote and directed "Master Defenders: Altered Alliances (2025)" -- an 8-part live-action web series that serves as a prequel to his first book. Matt was also one of the casting directors for the short film project known as "Criminal P.I. (2021)" and he also has a lead acting role in the short film called "Messages From The War Zone (2021)". Matt continues to display his artistic talents in the realms of literature and film, and he hopes to write and/or act in more upcoming film projects.
