Grammy and Golden Globe-nominated artist Frank Stallone is a remarkably versatile actor, singer, and musician. His powerful voice and ability to shift effortlessly from comedy to drama, and from rock to blues to big band, consistently captivate and entertain audiences.
Frank has achieved three Platinum Albums, ten Gold Albums, and five Gold Singles. He has appeared in over 60 films and TV shows, including Walker Texas Ranger, various sitcoms and variety programs, Hudson Hawk, Staying Alive, Fred Claus, and Tombstone—where he made a notable impression as "Ed Bailey," a formidable gunslinger. One of his standout film performances was as "Eddie," the bartender in Barfly, praised by critic Roger Ebert, who called the film "terrific" and highlighted Frank's "captivating and terrifying" portrayal.
Having written and published over 200 songs, Frank's latest single featured in The Expendables 2 ("Don't Want to Fight With Me") adds to his portfolio of compositions for nine films, including Rocky I, II, and III, Rambo II, Paradise Alley, and Over the Top. Notably, the nine songs he wrote and recorded for the Saturday Night Fever sequel Staying Alive earned him a Golden Globe nomination for Best Soundtrack and a Grammy nomination for Best Original Song with the hit single "Far From Over," which topped charts worldwide for over four months.
Born in Maryland and raised in Philadelphia, Frank pursued music from an early age, forming several bands before turning professional at 15 ("I had to lie about my age," he recalls). His band Valentine, which featured lead guitarist John Oates of Hall and Oates, signed with RCA Records in 1975 and released their debut album. Frank’s on-screen singing debut came with his self-written a cappella song "Take You Back" in the opening scene of Rocky. "The only reason I got the part was that I was the only musician my brother, Sylvester, knew... and I worked cheap," he says.
With nine solo albums to his name, Frank has earned praise from legends such as Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, and Sammy Cahn. His rock-influenced album Full Circle, which he considers his best, was followed by American songbook projects like In Love in Vain with Sammy Nestico, Stallone on Stallone by Request—a collection of his film soundtrack songs—and Songs from the Saddle, which showcases his acoustic side. A fan favorite in Australia, Frank regularly performs in concert halls, theaters, and clubs worldwide, earning critical acclaim and leaving audiences "enthralled" (New York Daily News).
Beyond music and acting, Frank is passionate about guitars, music, mafia history, and art. He is regarded as one of the top boxing historians and collectors globally and collects guitars, guns, and memorabilia. When not writing songs or filming, he spends time at the shooting range or gym but finds his greatest joy with a guitar in hand, surrounded by beautiful women and a good glass of wine. Asked why he has never married, he jokingly replies, "I guess I just forgot.
