Born in Montagano, Italy, he immigrated to the U.S. at age eight with his mother and sisters to reunite with his father, who had settled here a year prior.
He excelled in basketball and baseball at St. Patrick's High School in Elizabeth, NJ, graduating Cum Laude. Upon graduation, he earned a basketball scholarship to the University of Texas at El Paso, having been named to All-County, All-State, and received an All-American Honorable Mention.
He completed his college education at Biscayne College in Miami, FL (now St. Thomas University), graduating Summa Cum Laude with a degree in English and Philosophy. He then played professional basketball in Italy with G.S.A. Benevento. In recognition of his achievements, he was inducted into the St. Patrick's High School Athletic Hall of Fame in 1996 and the Elizabeth, NJ Athletic Hall of Fame in 1999.
His passion for acting developed during his five years teaching English and coaching varsity basketball at North Brunswick Township High School.
Bruno studied at the Strasberg Theatre Institute and continued training with Marcia Haufrecht, John Stix, John Strasberg, Michael Shurtleff, Michael Moriarity, and Gordon Phillips.
He has an extensive theatrical career in NYC. Notable roles include Pale in Burn This and Salvatore in the acclaimed NYC premiere of The Headhunter (both at the Common Basis Theatre); Benny in We Make a Wall and Gus in Tracon (both at the Open Door Theatre); Dom in Dog Eats Dog at the Ensemble Studio Theatre; Louis in The Gravediggers Tale (NYC premiere at the Gene Frankel Theatre and published in Best Short Plays of 2009 by Smith & Krauss); and Gabriel in Valentino's Wing (Producer's workshop at the Actor's Studio).
His film and television work includes collaborations with renowned directors such as Sergio Leone, Sydney Lumet, Richard Benjamin, and David Platt, alongside acclaimed actors including Robert DeNiro, Tom Hanks, James Woods, Paul Sorvino, David Proval, and Phil Bosco.
