Mary Black is a seasoned Canadian actress with extensive experience in theatre, film, and television. In 1995, she relocated from Toronto to Vancouver in search of new opportunities. One rainy afternoon, she chose to revive her acting career, which she had paused in 1970 to raise her children. This decision proved timely and successful. She began landing diverse and compelling roles, portraying nuns, judges, vampires, cult leaders, and rulers of distant planets (Man of Steel). Mary has acted alongside some of Hollywood’s leading talents, such as Russell Crowe, Colin Firth, Nicolas Cage, William H. Macy, Helen Mirren, Renée Zellweger, Scott Bakula, and Christopher Lloyd. Her directors include Bruce Beresford, Neil LaBute, Zack Snyder (Man of Steel), Jerry Ciccoritti, and Jason Reitman (Juno).
Alongside her prolific film and television work, Mary has nurtured her original passion for theatre by participating in numerous new productions and classic plays, including Shakespeare staged readings with the Savage God Company.
