Valentina Vladimirova was a renowned Russian character actress, most famous for her role in White Bim Black Ear (1977).
Born Valentina Kharlampievna Vladimirova on November 22, 1927, in the village of Vasylivka near Odesa, Ukraine, USSR, she initially pursued studies in Economics and Accounting at the Kharkiv Institute of Engineering and Economics after World War II. However, her passion for acting led her to leave college and move to Moscow to study at the Soviet State Institute for Cinema (VGIK). She graduated in 1955, trained under Boris Bibikov and Olga Pyzhova.
Vladimirova made her film debut in Pervyy eshelon (1956), directed by Mikheil Kalatozishvili, who also cast her in The Cranes Are Flying (1957). Following this successful start, she collaborated with prominent Soviet directors including Mikhail Shvejtser, Boris Barnet, Nikolay Dostal, Aleksei Saltykov, Aleksandr Dovzhenko, Vladimir Fetin, Nikolai Rozantsev, Vladimir Krasnopolsky, Eldar Ryazanov, Leonid Menaker, Iosif Kheifits, Yevgeni Matveyev, Ilya Averbakh, Stanislav Rostotskiy, among others. Her most celebrated performance was alongside Vyacheslav Tikhonov in White Bim Black Ear (1977), directed by Stanislav Rostotskiy.
In 1969, Valentina Vladimirova was honored as an Honored Actress of the Russian Federation. She lived with her husband in a Moscow suburb until her death from heart failure on March 23, 1994, in Moscow. She was buried at Vagankovskoe Cemetery in Moscow, Russia.
