Alia Aluma is an artist, designer, and writer, known for her contributions across academia and the creative industry, With experiences spanning multiple countries, including Hong Kong, England, and Canada. She holds a BA in Art History, a BA in Film & Communications, and a Masters in World Literature in Culture, studying at the University of Calgary, the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Newcastle University in England, and the University of Ottawa.
She began working as Curator at the Canadian Museum for Human Rights, focusing on Black Canadian History in 2024. Previously, she was the founding Perspective Film Curator at Contemporary Calgary and the Art & Technology Director at GRETA Bar. In 2023, she founded Aluma Studio & Agency, which develops arts programs, TV and Film and collaborates with SRRYCinema. Her upcoming TV show 'Yesterday, Last Year' and TV Pilot 'Gas Money' are in the works.
