Derek B. Moore has been acting since age 4, including live theater, films, made-for-TV movies and commercials. Derek plays DeMarcus Malone in the role reversal, social justice short, "The Suburban Itch."
Filmmaking began early, also, for Derek, who as a child video-recorded action figures, various toys and even his Bearded Dragon to create short stories.
Now, having been a video producer, journalist, PR agent and social media creator, Derek operates Flyhawk Productions as Creative Director and Owner. Versatile whether in front of or behind the camera, Derek is expert as a DP, shooter, editor and producer. Working with Moore Media Strategies, he has produced commercials for political candidates across several election cycles. Derek has created websites and produced and managed social media for organizations and corporations, including the publicly traded HealthStream Inc.
Derek has executive-produced and contributed as a photographer and editor to "The Suburban Itch;" Who Will Watch the Watchers? feature doc; #TakeEmDown feature doc, and "Trumped in Tupelo" short doc.
Derek has a B.S. degree from Belmont University, journalism major, with emphasis on broadcast TV and new media, and he is pursuing a Masters of Sports Administration degree from Belmont at this time.
Derek makes Nashville, Tennessee, his home.
