Katie Leaman is an award winning producer, writer, director, and sound designer. An up-and-coming consultant and creative, her projects consistently garner awards and attention. Their enthusiasm for sound, cinema, and justice is infectious, and has brought her work to festivals around the country and internationally (ARFF, ATLFF, Canada Diversity Film Festival, BUEIFF, MIFF, NOFF, Sundance, Sidewalk, and more). Her original feature screenplay, Saffron Kingdom (2025), took best writer at FSAFF; the film has gone on to win multiple Best Feature film awards. She earned an Emmy nomination for outstanding composition and sound design for the series, The Kronos Effect (2018). Short film, I Am Here (2019), took best picture at RIFF.
Leaman's personal body of work tends to mesh experimental and form with a splash of sonic intensity, but defies a singular genre. She instead, focuses on communities and platforms close to home.
Leaman hails from Woodstock, Georgia, but quickly made her way to Atlanta where she remains a proud ATLien.
