Emily Robyn Clark is an award-winning filmmaker, screenwriter, script supervisor, and creative polymath whose genre-bending work spans supernatural horror, fantasy, sci-fi, and psychological thrillers. Drawn to magical realism, the supernatural, and emotionally rich storytelling, she crafts films about powerful women, outsiders, and the metaphysical undercurrents that shape our world. She recently served as Script Supervisor on the SAG-AFTRA feature film Harmless, shot on Super 8mm in Mississippi.
Clark began her film career in Los Angeles, working with NBC (The Biggest Loser), Lionsgate (Chrisley's Court), and Skrein Productions, and later collaborated with Emmy-winning screenwriter Simon Moore (Traffic) on his spiritual project This Is the Frequency. She went on to co-host the Emmy Award-winning Talking Pictures alongside Tony Toscano and worked as a journalist for Dig In Magazine, covering Oscar-winning films like The Farewell and Promising Young Woman at Sundance. Following the death of George Floyd, she volunteered with internationally renowned BIPOC-led Gaye Magazine, covering underrepresented voices and representing the outlet at Sundance in 2023.
Her 25 minute fantasy thriller, Love Spell, played in 16 festivals globally, won 11 awards, and premiered at FilmQuest Film Festival where it was nominated for Best Utah Short in 2021. It's on multiple streaming platforms and distributed through Filmhub. Her short film Ouroboros, created during her time in the prestigious MFA program at Florida State University's College of Motion Picture Arts, was a semifinalist at the Renegade Film Festival in 2025 and nominated for Best Student Film at the Chicago Indie Film Awards in 2024. Clark's writing has been recognized for projects like Victorious Red, Suffer Her Rage, and Apocalypse Messiah, earning multiple screenplay awards including First Place in the Olive Woolley Burt Creative Writing Awards and landing in top festivals including FilmQuest Film Festival.
She has been commissioned for a range of projects, from inspirational features and horror shorts to commercial campaigns for Red Bull, Leica, and Fiat. She has served as a script reader for Slamdance and Female Voices Rock, and a judge for Red Rock Film Festival, and was named one of Ventura County's Top 40 Under 40 by the Ventura Arts Council.
Beyond film, Clark is a widely published poet, with work appearing in The Sow's Ear Poetry Review, Lullwater Review, Askew Poetry Journal, LA's Cultural Daily, Lavender Review, and more. She spent two years performing across the country at venues such as The Victory Theatre, Beyond Baroque, SoHo, and the Aspen Poets' Society. Her second poetry collection, Morning Comes Roaring Down the Mountain, will be released in October 2025 by BIPOC woman-owned Finishing Line Press.
As an up-and-coming singer-songwriter, she performs under the name Emma Dream. Her debut single "Country Girls", recorded in Nashville, earned an award from the Zepstone International Film & Music Festival in 2024 and has been featured on multiple curated Spotify playlists.
Clark founded Modern Mythic Productions in 2025, a woman-owned film company dedicated to the transformative power of cinema. The company creates bold, visionary work across fantasy, sci-fi, thriller, and horror-not just as entertainment, but as a platform for healing, dialogue, and collective awakening. Modern Mythic stories explore the depths of the human experience, weaving themes of spirituality, interconnectedness, and unseen forces with real-world issues approached through empathy, nuance, and authenticity.
