Michael Dante, an award-winning actor, author, and celebrity radio talk show host, has appeared in thirty films and 150 television shows. He was contracted with three major studios: MGM, Warner Bros., and 20th Century Fox. A former professional baseball player and recipient of numerous prestigious honors, Michael has a street named after him in his hometown of Stamford, Connecticut, called "Michael Dante Way." His acclaimed autobiography, *Michael Dante - From Hollywood to Michael Dante Way*, was published in 2014, earning him the Ella Dickey Literacy Award.
For twelve years, Michael hosted *The Michael Dante Classic Celebrity Talk Show* in Palm Springs, California, where he interviewed top classic stars from entertainment and sports. His book *My Classic Radio Interviews with the Stars - Volume One* features sixty of the two hundred celebrities he interviewed. Renowned for his work in westerns and dramas on both television and film, Michael is especially remembered for his role as ‘Maab’ in the original *Star Trek* episode *Friday's Child*. He starred in the title role of the classic film *Winterhawk* and authored its sequel, *Winterhawk's Land - Collector's Edition*.
Director Sammy Fuller cast Michael as Grant in *The Naked Kiss*. He co-starred with Audie Murphy in *Apache Rifles* and *Arizona Raiders*, and made his film debut in *Westbound* alongside Randolph Scott and Virginia Mayo. Michael wrote *Six Rode Home*, a tribute to soldiers of all wars, reflecting on their uncertain returns. He also appeared in *Seven Thieves* with Joan Collins, Edgar G. Robinson, Eli Wallach, and Rod Steiger.
Among his many honors, Michael received the Golden Boot Award in 2003, known as the “Oscar of Westerns,” recognizing his outstanding career contributions to the western genre. He has also been awarded the Silver Spur Award, Southern California Motion Picture Council Award, Spirit of the West Award, Apacheland Spirit Award, Wall of Fame Henager American History Museum Award, and was named Honoree of the Year by the Sons of Italy in America. Additionally, he has a star on the Palm Springs Walk of Stars.
Michael Dante continues to be a special celebrity guest at numerous conventions and festivals. He has authored seven published books, with an eighth forthcoming.
