Entrepreneur, Mumtaz Yildirimlar (former Warner Brothers and Deluxe Media employee), is fortunate enough to manage a highly successful and unique film distribution, aggregation and production company selling films to buyers globally. He is an experienced film-maker, editor and technical servicing specialist. He understands the competitive marketplace and complications of selling and delivering a film from start to finish. Where possible, Mumtaz will fight hard to deliver and publish a film to many platforms where it is physically and technically possible to do so. Mumtaz thrives on excellent communication and transparency with his filmmakers. Via his own frustrations, such as being ignored by big platforms and other key players in the business, and first hand experience of making and distributing films himself, the company was born to offer such services. In addition, Mumtaz is currently studying to become a qualified solicitor. He is in preparation for the Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE) and aims to hold credit as a solicitor regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) by 2028. With the forever growing VOD platforms, apps, devices and service types, it is important to stay protected from a legal standpoint. It will help strengthen his company, legal knowledge and offer legal services or advice to struggling film-makers in particular.
At MY Production Limited, we're changing the future of independent film by challenging an industry that too often discriminates against exceptional stories simply because they lack celebrity names or multi-million-pound budgets. MY Production produces original films and provides professional post-production services, while MY Spotlight Independent is our dedicated distribution division, championing films based on their quality, not who's in the cast. Through our own ad-free £1-per-film VOD platform, direct delivery partnerships with major streaming platforms, and an expanding theatrical distribution network, we are finally making noise worldwide. For too long, audiences have been conditioned to believe that big-name casts are the benchmark for great films because that's what the industry's gatekeepers have consistently prioritised. We believe that only changes when independent films are given the same opportunities to be seen. That's why we proudly bridge the gap between big-budget and low-budget filmmaking, showcasing them side by side with equal respect. We choose films because we believe in them, not because they feature celebrity names. It's time for the industry to normalise judging films by the strength of their story, creativity and filmmaking - not by who's on the poster.
