Marianna Kourakou is a distinguished presence in Greek cinema, known for her work primarily during the 1960s. Trained at the National Theatre of Greece School and in classical dance, she brought a natural beauty, expressive subtlety, and calm poise to her performances. Kourakou appeared in around 25 films, working with leading actors of the era including Dimitris Papamichael, Alekos Alexandrakis, Dinos Iliopoulos, and Faidon Georgitsis. Notable titles include Ta paliopaida (1963), Artiste (1966), I epistrofi tis Mideias (1968), Kane me prothypourgo (1965), and Lost Happiness (1966), often portraying characters with a melancholic, romantic undertone.
