Richard de Klerk stars alongside Lin Chi-Ling and Liu Ye in Rain Li's directorial debut, Beijing, New York, a love triangle that spans time, cultures, and languages. He appears in CBGB, the biopic of Hilly Kristal, acting alongside Alan Rickman as the iconic sound engineer of New York City's legendary Bowery CBGB Club, the birthplace of many renowned punk bands. De Klerk both starred in and produced the supernatural thriller Repeaters through his company Rampart Films. The film premiered as a Special Presentation at the 2010 Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) and was later invited to open the Rendezvous with Madness Film Festival, promoting discussions on mental health. For this role, he earned a Leo Award nomination. In 2009, he also starred in the acclaimed film Cole, which premiered at TIFF and was invited to the Moscow International Film Festival, where it won a Special Jury Critics Award. He received a 2010 Leo Award nomination for "Best Lead Performance by a Male in a Feature Length Drama" for his title role. De Klerk has taken on many challenging roles in film and television, winning the UK "Best Actor" Award for his lead role in Part of the Game. His guest appearances include popular TV series such as The Listener, Cedar Cove, Stargate SG-1, Supernatural, Andromeda, and Cold Squad. His other notable film credits include the Emmy-winning Bang Bang You're Dead and the multi-award-winning Mr. Rice's Secret alongside David Bowie. Beyond acting, which remains his passion, he serves as Senior Vice President, part owner, and Development Executive at Rampart Films, a Vancouver and Los Angeles-based production company dedicated to creating commercially successful and thought-provoking feature films and documentaries.
