Lester was a radio and television producer and a major talent agent in New York City. He produced many radio shows such as "Behind the Mike", "If I Had a Chance", "Horror Inc." and "Stroke of Fate". In 1946, he and his wife, Juliet, formed Lester Lewis Associates. Their clients over a span of 40 years included Betty Furness, Bob and Ray, Myrna Loy, Kitty Carlisle, Paul Tripp, Shari Lewis, Bill Stern, Chris Schenkel and Red Barber. Lester was also a renowned amateur photographer of children. For many years, in addition to being the executive producer, he was the "warm up man" for "Birthday House", taking the birthday kids and their guests on a tour of the studio before introducing them to Paul Tripp.
