Panos Amarantidis is a Greek screenwriter, director, educator, and artistic curator whose multifaceted work spans television, theatre, and musical performance. Known for his sharp writing, ethical approach, and artistic sensibility, he gained widespread recognition for the hit comedy series Akros oikogeneiakon (2001), which became a ratings success and earned the Best Comedy Award at the 2003 Prosopa Awards. With a background in archaeology and art history from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Amarantidis later specialized in screenwriting and theatrical storytelling through advanced training and seminars. He has taught literature, theatre history, and dramaturgy for over three decades in public education and drama schools, while also publishing satirical articles and critiques. He is a member of the Greek Screenwriters Guild (E.S.E.), the Federation of Screenwriters in Europe (F.S.E.), and the Piraeus branch of the national teachers' union. His television work includes popular comedies such as Emeis ki emeis (1994) and I ora i kali (2004), both of which contributed to his reputation as a leading figure in Greek sitcom writing. He also created Greece's first web-based series, S' agapao... parkare (2009), a parody that showcased his innovative spirit. Amarantidis has made a strong mark in musical theatre, curating and directing acclaimed productions such as Encore... Musical and More!, Pame San Allote, Show Me the World, and Cine Musical. His Greek adaptation of Fiddler on the Roof at the Badminton Theatre in 2015 was particularly well received. Since 2017, he has led a long-running musical project at El Convento del Arte, blending global sounds with Greek tradition and collaborating with well-known performers.
