Mona DeFrawi is the Founder & CEO of Radivision Studios, a film production company that creates original series for the entrepreneurial spirit. However, long before her leap into entertainment, DeFrawi escaped a war-torn country before becoming a FinTech industry titan and serial entrepreneur.
Having survived war, third world challenges, and refugee-hood as a child, DeFrawi graduated with honors from Duke University (BA) and the University of Maryland (MBA) before becoming a veteran of the FinTech space. She has since been highlighted as one of Forbes' "Most Powerful Women in Technology" and "Top 100 Women in Fintech 2018." When she wasn't gracing the pages of Forbes, she was helping grow sections of the FinTech industry. In her career, she has not only served global private placement clients as a FINRA-licensed investment banker, working with international sovereign funds and family offices, but she has also assisted in the establishment of two of the first university and state technology commercialization offices as well as created and taught the first entrepreneurship curriculum for The Johns Hopkins University, School of Engineering.
Throughout her career, she has always thrived on overcoming "impossible" challenges including: -Raising over $6B in equity funding over her career -Pioneering the Private Markets and building the first platform that delivered new liquidity & exit options to the venture industry, helping -initiate the new Unicorn investing trend. (acquired by SecondMarket and further acquired by the Nasdaq Private Markets). -Authoring & successfully lobbying legislation that unleashed $5B+ of new venture LP investment -Raising a $500M first-time private equity fund in 6 months as a founding Director -Managing a post-IPO turnaround delivering a 2,500% increase in valuation -Managing 3 IPOs as VP, Corp. Dev. and Dir., IR
And now: starting Radivision, an entrepreneurial social media platform and production company. Already winning the Silver Telly Award for her original series, Driven, DeFrawi's Radivision Studios is poised to be the "ESPN of Entrepreneurship."
