A native of Raleigh, North Carolina, Lauren Marlene Jones has had a passion for writing since she completed her first paragraph in Marina Bell's second grade class at Crosby-Garfield School. Lauren graduated from Hampton University, where she majored in English and became a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. She earned her master's degree in English at North Carolina State University.
In the early 1990s, Lauren decided to take on the pen name Lauren Sanders-Jones in order to pay homage to the family of her mother and lifelong best friend, Marlene Sanders Jones, a master educator, organizer, and Delta who is now deceased, and who nurtured her in every aspect of her life. Lauren got her maiden name and writing gift from her father, the late Charles Robert Jones, a journalist who at age 16 published a book of his original poetry.
Lauren is the proud mother of three beautiful, brilliant, and fascinating young adults: Kristen Danielle Tucker Fuller (Lawrence), Adrienne Carol Tucker, and Justin Charles Tucker, and a grandson, Isaiah Baxter Fuller
Lauren is currently working on two novels: Defying The Mortal Coil (© 2015) and The Cheese Eaters, A Novel Aftermath To Reasonable Joy (© 2015).
