Vignesh Vijayan was born in Ambasamudram in Tirunelveli, India. He completed his schooling from Velankanni Mat.Hr.Sec School, Chennai and graduated from Sri Venkateswara College of Engineering (SVCE), Sriperumbudur near Chennai, Tamil Nadu. He served as a Software Engineer at Cognizant Technology Solutions before being introduced into the Tamil film industry.
Vignesh Vijayan made his silver screen debut through several junior artist roles including Spyder (2017) directed by A. R. Murugadoss. Before that he was performing artist and an entertainer in various television shows as an Anchor and performer that includes Vijay TV's lead comedy show Kalakka Povathu Yaaru, (Season 08). Started his movie career with short films which includes late releases of RAA (2019) Venkat Prabhu produced Tamil mystery thriller directed by Pozhilan & Pilot of Kalavu - Kalavum Katru Mara (2020) directed by Murali Karthick.
His onscreen performances in his subsequent Web Series, Nila Nila Odi Vaa (2018), directed by Nandhini JS. Time Enna Boss (2020) Directed by Subu, Police Diary 2.0 (2019) directed by Vikarnan.
His onscreen performances in his subsequent films, Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru (2017), Pon Manickavel (2021), FIR (2022) and D Block (2022), made him to be considered as one of the known promising actors. Musasi (2022 - To be released) along with Prabhudeva. Released last year, he directed and acted as the antagonist in the pilot short film Casting Call, which received a strong reception.
A dynamic stage presence, Vignesh has also curated and headlined live shows, including the comedy series "Weekend With Vicky". He is awaiting to tour with his highly anticipated Stand up Comedy Solo Special, "Mike And Muscle - Journey Of A Freelancer", an exclusive set written directly from his extensive personal experiences navigating the entertainment industry as a 'Freelancer'.
Over his 14+ year career, Vignesh has expanded his artistic footprint beyond performing, establishing himself as a prominent Creative Director, Executive Producer and Showrunner. Leading high-impact live events, integrated production house, cinematic creatives and branded digital campaigns, he oversees end-to-end creative execution from the initial script to screen being a professional screenwriter. He is spearheading an active development pipeline that integrates distinct visual storytelling with advanced virtual production techniques and audiences can expect his hands-on debut directorial project in the near future.
