Natalie Thomas was born in Crescent City, California, and grew up training as a ballet dancer. At nineteen, she moved to Europe to join Nederlands Dans Theater II and later Ballet Frankfurt under William Forsythe. She toured internationally with dance-theater works, performing at prestigious venues like the Brooklyn Academy of Music and Sadler's Wells.
Her experience with text in dance-theater sparked an interest in acting, leading her to New York City to study the Meisner Method. She pursued a career in film, television, and theater. Notable stage roles include work with The Wooster Group, several productions directed by Jay Scheib, and a year-long portrayal of Lady Macbeth in Punchdrunk's acclaimed Sleep No More. Natalie’s debut feature film, Month To Month, written and directed by Wes Hopper, won her Best Supporting Actress at the Iowa Film Festival. She later starred in Everything Is Gonna Be Pink, directed by Academy Award nominee Roni Ezra, and appeared in David Michalek’s installation Portraits in Dramatic Time alongside William H. Macy, Alan Rickman, and Holly Hunter.
Branching into creation, Natalie began writing and producing with Brock Labrenz’s An Films, developing projects like Heute Nacht, 1901, and Any Other Normal. After moving to Cologne, Germany, she studied screenwriting at the International Film School Cologne. Before graduating, she was hired by Bildundtonfabrik to write for the second season of the award-winning Netflix series How To Sell Drugs Online (Fast). She continued working with Bildundtonfabrik for six years, writing numerous projects for streaming platforms including Netflix and Disney+.
