Born and raised in Copenhagen, Denmark, Allan Hyde has an English father and a Danish mother. He began studying acting at age 11 and was soon cast in Cameron Macintosh's production of "Les Miserables."
Allan’s major breakthrough came when Oscar-winning director Alan Ball assembled a global cast for HBO's acclaimed series "True Blood," where Allan portrayed the pivotal character Godric.
In Denmark, Allan's first TV role was in the mini-series "Album," followed by appearances in "Kødkataloget," as well as starring roles in "Heartless," "Dicte," and "Below the Surface." His other TV credits include "Those Who Kill," "Lærkevej," and the Norwegian series "Implosion."
In 2008, Allan starred in the short film "The Awakening," which received an Oscar nomination. He has also appeared in numerous feature films such as "Father of Four," "Where Had All the Good Men Gone?" and the epic saga "The Shamer's Daughter," where he played a leading role.
On the Danish theatre stage, Allan performed in the hit musical "Grease," which ran for two seasons, and later portrayed Bobby in "Saturday Night Fever."
Allan has also pursued other creative interests, writing, directing, and starring in the English-language short film "Stupid Clown," following his direction of two Danish short films: "Rickshaw" and "Friendship." In 2020, he wrote, directed, and acted in the TV series "Cold Hawaii" alongside his colleague Aske Bang.
