Sabrina Z. Geffner is a writer, director, producer, and casting director driven by a passion for storytelling that explores universal issues with drama, fantasy, comedy, and more. Most recently, she wrote and directed an award-winning short GOOD ENOUGH (11 mins), a surreal drama about our innate desire for parental approval, and the quest for self-worth within a toxic family dynamic. Good Enough has been awarded Best Director at the Count Basie Center Breakthrough Filmmaker Festival, Best Director at The Brightside Tavern Film Festival, and the Grand Jury Award for Best Student Film at NYIFA. The short also earned the largest grant from the School of Visual Arts Alumni Society-the William C. Arkell Memorial Grant.
Sabrina co-wrote and directed ADVERSARY (30 mins), a TV drama spec pilot centered around two female musicians in the 1990's, and the dark side of the music industry for women. Sabrina currently works full-time at Chaotic Good Productions, an indie production company where she continues to bring compelling TV series to life. Sabrina aims for her work to make an audience reflect on their own lives, where they see glimpses of themselves in her stories. In her free time she likes to attend renaissance fares and create whimsical costumes for conventions.
