Johnny Walter, son of an investigative news producer and a biology professor, began acting at age 13 while growing up in Miami, FL. He attended New World School of the Arts, a performing arts high school, where he appeared in numerous theatrical productions, including "The Government Inspector" and "The Crucible," portraying the tragic John Proctor. In 2000, after graduating, Johnny was accepted into The Goodman Theatre School to pursue a BFA. During his time there, he gained experience in diverse roles such as "Romeo and Juliet," "Brighton Beach Memoirs," and "Three Sisters." He further honed his craft through workshops within the Chicago theatre scene, performing at venues like the Chicago Shakespeare Theatre and the Steppenwolf Theatre Company.
After over a decade in theatre, Johnny took a sabbatical to travel and gain life experience. He relocated to Austin, TX, to be closer to family and acquired various skills, including welding, teaching, fishmongering, clinical assisting, and carpentry. He believed that truly understanding people requires experiencing their lives firsthand. After three to four years away from acting, he returned to his passion.
In 2010, Johnny made a comeback to the arts and soon after made his film debut in the horror movie Boneboys (2012). Since then, his career in film and television has flourished.
