Carey Lee is a professional ballroom dancer, seven-time New Zealand national gold medalist and former Miss Teen New Zealand. She was born to a mother of Slavic-Malaysian descent and a father of African descent.
Even as a young child, she was interested in the performing arts, declaring to her parents that she would pursue such a career. Carey began training in classical ballet at the age of four under the Vaganova method, a highly regarded Russian ballet training system known for its technical precision and strength development, while also beginning ballroom and latin dance lessons at the age of seven, eventually competing and winning her first national title at the age of ten. Her dance career was later put on hold in her late teens due to injury. She had been featured and interviewed in many local and national New Zealand newspaper publications throughout her career.
Carey was first discovered on social media and began working as a fashion and commercial model at the age of nineteen, later signing with Wilhelmina Models (Los Angeles) and Nemesis Models (London). When Carey was twenty years old, she entered a 'Ring Girl' search and gained popularity as 'People's Choice'. She then went on to become a well-known face in the combat sport industry, ring carding for the 'King in the Ring' series and 'The Big Bash' series, televised both nationally and internationally. Carey had successfully built a strong social media presence and modeled for a variety of companies in the fashion and fitness categories.
In 2016, Carey appeared on First Dates New Zealand. Her image was selected as the cover photo on TVNZ's website for the First Dates New Zealand TV series.
Today, she is a fashion stylist and influencer, and she is also very active with social media, most known for her work with the Yeezy design team, Hypebeast, FENTY x PUMA and other fashion brands.
