Konstantin Fam, also known as Costa Fam, is a screenwriter, director, and producer. He is the creator of the "Witnesses" trilogy, which honors the memory of Holocaust victims. The trilogy consists of three films: "Shoes" (2012), "Brutus" (2016), and "Violin" (released in 2017), all connected by shared characters and themes. The short film "Shoes" received numerous awards at international festivals and was submitted for consideration at the 2013 Academy Awards.
Born on July 13, 1977, in the former USSR in the small Ukrainian town of Pervomaiskii, Konstantin is the son of a Vietnamese father and a Jewish mother. His father, a political immigrant and descendant of Vietnamese resistance heroes, spent his childhood in partisan groups. His mother was Jewish, with family members who perished during the Holocaust. The histories of his parents’ families have deeply influenced Konstantin's artistic vision. He earned a degree in Theatre and Film Arts from the Dnepropetrovsk College of Theatrical Arts, VGIK, and NYFA. Over two decades, Konstantin has worked in theatre and television across Georgia, Ukraine, and Russia as an actor, screenwriter, director, and producer. In addition to developing his own projects, he co-owns a company with his wife that produces educational content for parents.
