Biografia
After graduating from the renowned Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School for the Performing Arts in New York City, Davis began his professional acting career. In 1999, he relocated to Los Angeles, where he appeared in award-winning independent short films like The Call and Let's Talk, both of which were broadcast on BET. He later took on a recurring role as a fashion stylist for Forrester Creations on the popular daytime soap opera The Bold and the Beautiful. In 2003, Davis starred alongside Lorenzo Lamas in the Syfy Channel action film Raptor Island, a role that ignited his passion for the action genre and led to multiple action film roles over the next three years with Syfy.
While filming in Bulgaria, Davis became aware of the severe issue of human trafficking during a fundraising event and visited several orphanages with the organization Face To Face Bulgaria to meet trafficking survivors. Upon returning to the United States, he wrote Svetlana's Journey, a film inspired by the true story of a 13-year-old sex trafficking victim. Davis returned to Sofia, Bulgaria, secured corporate funding, and directed the film in just one week, working with Bulgarian actors who did not speak English. After completing Svetlana's Journey, he organized fundraising events that raised thousands of dollars to support various orphanages. He extended his stay in Sofia, touring the country and screening the film in 20 public schools and orphanages.
In 2005, Svetlana's Journey was broadcast on Bulgarian national television, reaching over two million viewers. Davis' efforts contributed to the establishment of Bulgaria's first anti-trafficking agency. The film won Best Short Subject at both the 2005 Hollywood Film Festival and the 2005 HDFEST Film Festival in Los Angeles, with Davis receiving runner-up honors for Best Director. In 2007, he produced and directed Cargo: Innocence Lost, a documentary exposing the trafficking of children and women within the United States.
Both films have been utilized by hundreds of national and international agencies, organizations, churches, and educational institutions. Davis has collaborated with legislators, royalty, celebrities, and corporations to raise social awareness. He received the prestigious People to People International Make a Difference award, founded by Dwight Eisenhower, and has been featured on major media outlets such as World News with Charles Gibson, CNN, NBC, ABC, KTLA, and the Los Angeles Daily News, highlighting the issue of human trafficking.
Davis is the founder of Artists United For Social Justice, a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering activists to create and share multimedia content that educates the public, especially youth, about human rights violations and social injustices.
He also serves as CEO of Journey Film Group Inc., a film production company focused on producing and distributing innovative content with socially relevant and topical themes.
