Gary Goldstein is a writer for film, television, and theater, and is also a four-time published author.
He has penned 17 produced telefilms, including "The Wish List," "Hitched for the Holidays," and the 2022 Hallmark Channel hit "Lights, Camera, Christmas!" Additionally, he has written indie films such as "If You Only Knew," "Politics of Love," and "Mr. 365." Gary has sold or optioned numerous original screenplays, holds multiple episodic TV credits, and has sold half-hour pilots to NBC and Warner Bros. TV.
On the Los Angeles stage, his most recent work was the world premiere of his acclaimed three-sisters dramedy "April, May & June," produced by Theatre 40 of Beverly Hills. The production received five Broadway World award nominations, including Best Local Production.
His other L.A. stage works include the comedies "Just Men," "Parental Discretion," and "Three Grooms and a Bride," all of which enjoyed extended, well-reviewed runs. His family dramedy "Curtain Call" debuted at Carmel, California's Pacific Repertory Theatre, while "Dinner at the Harbor Reef," a drama "based on fact, rumor and Hollywood," was presented in a staged reading in 2019 at Theatre 40 in Beverly Hills.
Since 2021, Gary has published three novels: "The Last Birthday Party," which won the IBPA Benjamin Franklin Award for Excellence in Fiction; "The Mother I Never Had," recognized as one of the "Must-Read Books of Fall 2022" by Town & Country magazine; and "Please Come to Boston," praised by the Bay Area Reporter as "a beautiful take on college life and the gloriously interwoven trappings of sexual attraction and relationships." His upcoming novel, the dogs-and-divorce comedy "Canine Custody," is set for release in September 2026 by Koehler Books.
Since 2007, Gary has also contributed as a film reviewer and arts feature writer for the Los Angeles Times.
