Biografia
Maureene Larrazabal was born in the Philippines and has lived and worked there her entire life. She earned an AB in Communication Arts with a focus on Interior Design from St. Paul Q.C. Her immediate family includes her brother, E.J. Leonardo, and her sister, Lorraine Ana. Her mother is Ana Marie Larrazabal, and her father is Nestor Vera Cruz.
Maureene is also a member of the band Mau's Big Deal and has performed internationally. She has been with the band for five years. The other members are Chanda Espiritu (vocalist), Jelo Morales (vocalist), Arnold Austria (drummer), Arnold Mariano (keyboardist), Jun delos Reyes (bassist), and Robert Rivera (guitarist).
While Maureene is primarily known as a film star, her first break came on television as Carrie, the Weather Girl, in Mikee Forever. She has since starred in several TV shows, including Sana'y Ikaw Na Nga (GMA 7 primetime soap opera), Kirara (GMA 7 weekly morning series), Kool Ka Lang (GMA 7 weekly comedy sitcom), Eat Bulaga (GMA 7 daily variety show), Gags Must Be Crazy (Viva TV 13 weekly comedy sitcom), Home Along Da Riles (ABS-CBN 2 weekly sitcom starring Dolphy and Nova Villa), L (GMA 7 drama series featuring Ruffa Gutierrez, Sunshine Cruz, and Gary Estrada), Iskul Bukol (VTV 13 comedy series starring Joey de Leon and Ruby Rodriguez), and Mikee Forever (GMA 7 comedy series).
Her commercial work includes advertisements for Clown (a TV ad for Condura Refrigerators) and Skin Reborn (a TV ad for Hirudoid). Her first major film role was in Viva Films' Strict ang Payrents Ko, starring Amanda Page and Gary Estrada. However, she had to travel abroad and did not complete filming for the project.
