Adnan G. Köse (born 19 October 1976) is a German director, screenwriter, showrunner, casting director, and actor recognized for his emotionally impactful and socially aware storytelling. Some of his early work is credited under the name Adnan Köse. His career launched with award-winning screenplays like Kleine Morde, which received the NRW Screenplay Award, and the acclaimed TV debut Mein großer Freund, featuring Günter Lamprecht and Hannelore Elsner, nominated for Best Cinematography at the German Television Awards.
With a background in acting and literature, Köse infuses his projects with psychological insight, poetic expression, and precise dramaturgy. He was the showrunner for the primetime drama Bis in die Spitzen (Sat.1) and took on roles as creative producer, casting director, and writer for the international production Broken Bonds. Currently, he is engaged as casting director, co-producer, writer, and director for the forthcoming feature How the Soldier Repairs the Gramophone (Enigma Film), set for theatrical release in autumn 2026.
All of Köse’s films have received support from major German film funding institutions, including Filmstiftung NRW, FFA, FFF Bayern, Hessen Invest, among others. His last three feature films were distributed by StudioCanal.
Recent projects include the series Theo Weihnacht - Last Santa, Seeger - The Mercy of God, To the Beach, and the feature Glückauf, Almanya.
Köse’s storytelling weaves intimate character development with wider political and philosophical issues. As a versatile filmmaker and actor, his work is characterized by authenticity, emotional depth, and a strong social conscience, consistently aiming to produce meaningful and impactful cinema.
