Biografia
Angelo Mercado Jr., a native of New York, discovered his passion for acting in high school when he joined the drama club. Growing up in the Bronx, Angelo found that theatre helped him stay focused and kept him out of trouble. He continued acting in college while earning a degree in Computer Science.
After the birth of his son, Angelo aimed to set a positive example, showing that with dedication and hard work, anything is possible. He began taking acting classes and workshops at the New York Film Academy, HB Studios, and Terry Schreiber Studios. With the full support of his loving family, Angelo committed himself to becoming a professional actor.
Known for his wit, humor, and Latin charm, Angelo landed roles in various TV shows such as "Do Not Disturb: Hotel Horrors," "Celebrity Ghost Stories," "The Hunt With John Walsh," and the web series "Frog Kissers." He also played a lead role in the indie film Utopia Lies at The Horizon, which earned several awards including the Bronze award at the Box[ur]Shorts Film Festival in LA, as well as honors at the NY Coney Island Film Festival, Boston Latin International Film Festival, and the LATINUY Film Festival in Uruguay. (Refer to his Filmography for a complete list of TV and film credits.)
Angelo continues to live and work in New York City, thriving in his career. A passionate comic book fan, he dreams of starring in a superhero movie or television series. He also hopes to collaborate with his two favorite actors, Al Pacino and Robert De Niro. Angelo briefly worked alongside De Niro on the set of "The Intern" (2015), with a memorable moment when De Niro playfully hit him in the back with a door. Among Angelo’s personal heroes are actor and martial arts icon Bruce Lee and actress/singer Jennifer Lopez, who, like Angelo, is Bronx-born and of Puerto Rican heritage.
