Biografia
Deanna Marsigliese is an Italian-Canadian Art Director, Character Designer, and 2D Animator based in San Francisco, CA.
Focusing on storytelling through character design, Marsigliese has been with Pixar Animation Studios since 2012. Her work includes Luca (2021), Soul (2020), Onward (2020), Toy Story 4 (2019), Incredibles II (2018), Bao (2018), Inside Out (2015), and The Good Dinosaur (2013). Her creative process was featured in the acclaimed Disney+ documentary series Inside Pixar (2020).
Recently, Marsigliese designed the characters Anxiety and Ennui for Pixar’s record-breaking Inside Out 2 (2024) and has contributed new characters to the Toy Story franchise, with the next film scheduled for release in 2026. She is currently developing several exciting new projects.
A two-time Annie Award nominee, Marsigliese is a proud Academy member and dedicated educator. She has written and directed Pixar’s art internship programs and launched courses for colleagues at Pixar University and The Walt Disney Family Museum. Additionally, she taught Classical Animation at Seneca College in Toronto, Canada.
Marsigliese leads workshops and delivers keynote speeches worldwide, headlining major industry events such as SXSW, D23, ILM, WIA, LightBox Expo, THU, Brain Bar, CineKid, Leaders London, The View Conference, RiseUp Summit, Pixelatl, Prémios Quirino, and Romics d'Oro, where she was honored with the Golden Romics Award.
A vintage fashion enthusiast with a fondness for oversized costume jewelry, Marsigliese finds inspiration through extensive world travel, always carrying a surprisingly small backpack.
