Aaron Lee Berg is a Producer, Director, Editor and award-winning cinematographer with over 25 years of experience in the video and TV industry from Hollywood California to Florida. Aaron demonstrated a passion for storytelling and creativity early on. As a child, he would lie on his bedroom floor with his Star Wars action figures, building sets out of wood, meticulously blocking scenes, and using his hand as an imaginary camera to "film" his movies.
"I could see scenes, I knew how they should be shot, and how I would edit them in my head. I knew what I wanted to do from the time I was only 8 years old, and I've never stopped doing it. It's a passion, a need to create, to tell stories, to make people laugh, smile, and even cry. It's something I can't get out of my blood," Aaron reflects.
His passion for storytelling evolved at the age of 14 when his father purchased a VHS video camera for the family's video production company. Aaron often swiped it from his father's studio to create short films featuring fiery bike stunts, action-packed sequences, crime scenes, and comedic stories starring gorillas in the forest. He developed his strong editing skills early on by cutting his own short films-and may have even done some comedic re-editing of movies rented from the local video store. "Editing is were my skill for shooting and directing really started. Editing is where you bring everything together to carefully craft the story. Being an editor is a huge responsibility. It's where you craft the story, influence the audiences thoughts and emotions. You have to be true to the story, and carefully orchestrate every frame, every cut, sound effect, and music score." Aaron says on his 25+ years as an editor. At the age of 15, Aaron launched his professional career when he was hired to run the lead camera for a weekly TV show on the TBN Network, securing the position out of 500 entries. He went on to operate the lead camera throughout the show's successful one-year run. He later moved to Southern California, where his first job involved hanging backdrops and installing lights on the set of a children's TV show. He advanced his skills in lighting, editing and even directing by assisting directors on projects like the music video "Do You Miss Me" by acclaimed artist Dalena and TV commercials featuring Baseball Hall of Famer Tommy Lasorda.
Aaron continued to hone his editing expertise at a professional level while working in Southern California for multiple production studios. He contributed his editing skills to high-profile projects such as the CBS TV pilot "Fourplay" starring Lauren Holly and Jami Gertz and Red Bull X Games webcasts. His work during this time solidified his reputation for delivering professional-grade results across a variety of media. After nearly a decade in Hollywood and LA, Aaron returned to Oregon and established his own creative company specializing in multi-camera live events and promotional content for corporate clients, including brands like Pepsi, Nike, and Capital One.
With a solid background in editing, cinematography, and every aspect of production, stepping into THE Directing chair was a natural progression for Aaron. His experience as an editor has been invaluable, allowing him to direct talent and craft each scene with a clear vision of how it will be edited. Aaron always shoots with the edit in mind.
Going further in his passion for his craft Aaron also works as senior producer on several video Podcast shows and other media content.
