W. Watts Biggers, also known as Buck Biggers, is an American novelist, producer, and composer, best recognized as the co-creator of the animated TV series "Underdog." He established his company, Total TeleVision (TTV), with animation produced at Gamma Studios in Mexico. TTV developed and produced numerous animated series, including "King Leonardo and his Short Subjects," "The Hunter," "Tooter Turtle," "Tennessee Tuxedo and his Tales," "Go Go Gophers," "The World of Commander McBragg," "Klondike Kat," and "Underdog." Biggers co-wrote over 500 scripts for these shows and composed all their theme songs, including lyrics and music. The popular "Underdog" originally aired on NBC from 1964 to 1966, then on CBS from 1966 to 1968, before returning to NBC from 1968 to 1970 and again from 1972 to 1973. Later, Biggers served as Vice President of Promotion and Creative Services for NBC, leading a 90-person department for five years.
Biggers' true passion lay in writing distinctive novels that inspired readers to dream. His pursuit of success in the conventional business world no longer satisfied him. This led to the creation of a story about a seeker who enters the world innocently and is told to find and follow his purpose despite being repeatedly confounded by human obstacles. The book was published in 1967 and optioned by filmmaker Kurt Burk in 2003. After completing the screenplay, concept art, and teaser films for "The Man Inside," Biggers and Burk co-wrote the screenplay for another of his novels, "A Woman Called Job," aiming to bring its timeless love story to the screen. This marked the beginning of his significant collaboration with One Brick Films, a production company founded by Kurt Burk and Mark J. Melchiori in April 2006 with the mission to adapt all of Biggers' stories into feature films. In May 2007, a 45-day production of "A Woman Called Job," featuring actors Adam Garcia and Tamara Feldman, commenced.
Biggers has found a creative home at One Brick Films, dedicated to turning his unique stories into captivating films for audiences to enjoy. The feature film "Underdog," inspired by his TV series and produced by Disney, is set to premiere nationwide in theaters in August 2007.
